SALFORD ZINE LIBRARY is going to be moving some of it's collection, including (I've been told) a large portion of the STOMACH PUMP ARCHIVE to Durham Art Gallery for a couple of weeks! The whole thing is arranged by EMPTY SHOP. If you live in or around Durham you should definitely go! It runs from the 24th July - 10th August
I don't know if this's already been mentioned, but ALEX HUMPHREYS & SAVWO from May's REAL HORROR SHOW at Islington Mill have rehoused their work on the walls of Common over the summer and is pretty good to drink with. On 22nd July they're going to have a changeover and hang up totally new work. VERY EXCITING!
Also on exhibitions, it's worth visiting Whitworth Art Gallery' to look at their exhibition of the Musgrave Kinley outsider art collection. It's pretty amazing! No rush though, it's on for a whole year...
Both MUSEUMS ONE and MUSEUMS TWO:BIGGEST FAN are nearly sold out! Act fast! Only two copies of each remain available for online purchase from the bigcartel shop & a few more in GOOD GRIEF. On a similar note, G.G is now fully stocked with SCARS OF THE NINETEEN NINETIES..... so if you're in the area, pick one up! It'll be worth it. Blurbs forthcoming!
Luckily for the most of us who don't have £17 to spare, once MUSEUMS ONE is totally gone, COMFORTABLE ON A TIGHTROPE are going to release a run of their compilation tape, which is a total BELTER and deserves to be a staple item in all of our homes. As a brief reminder, it has songs from some of the best bands in the world, like WAITERS, IRMA VEP, FORMER BULLIES, THEE OH SEES, SIC ALPS, DUNES, NISENNENMONDAI, TY SEGALL AND SILK FLOWERS (who're playing at the Deaf Institute this Wednesday 21st July, which promises to be the night of your life!)
The 22 track tape will come in a proper case with an incredible cover in usual C.O.A.T style. excellent!
Keep those crab eyes peeled for more releases in the next couple of month, everything has gone quiet over the high summer, but MUSEUMS THREE (yet unnamed) is set to be released on the 17th September 2010 and it's going to be totally heroic and a little like a DIY version of McSweeney's San Francisco Panorama. There's going to be various sections & supplements in one big package (no pizza box this time though), and include interviews, fiction, non-fiction, photograph, comics, illustrations, and more from HEATHER ROSE DOMINIC, JESS HILLIARD, JULIA SCOTT, TAO LIN, MATTHIAS CONNOR, MATTHEW WALKERDINE, RLPERRY, ANDREW BESWICK, MIRIAM AVERY, DAVID BAILEY, LUCY JONES, GIRL MOUNTAIN, EDWIN STEVENS, RACHEL MCFARLANE and far far more tbc.
Also look forward the first in a series of split release tabloids, first up DYLAN HUGHES & ALEX HUMPHREYS.
cannot wait.
